Banana Bread

My boss brought in banana bread and I just had to have a piece, then another, then another. I was so bad… but it was so good. He is a great cook and I can’t resist when he bring something in. He said it was good for me with low fat butter and good stuff all in it. But I have to wonder. I have tuna and crackers for lunch so that should balance out what I ate this morning.

Today is a busy day at work. Catching up from the golf tournament.  I got my new program in and LOVE it! The reports are so cool and it looks easier to use than the old one.

Well enough babbling about work. I have got to get back to it.

My weakness.. Lemon Poppy Seed Bread..

Oh wait.. thats one of MANY weaknesses :P

Well hopefully your co-workers have moved in on the bread by now and you no longer have to worry about having more!

My mouth is watering! Just try to balance it as you have mentioned already. Good luck! Could have been worse right?

yummmmmmmmyy. I love banana bread. Next time something like that comes to the office, take a slicce (just the one) and pick at it for the morning. It’ll last longer, and you wont go back for seconds. NEVER deprive yourself of what you like (or else your diet will fail). But be sure to only have a little of what you like! It takes alot of practice, I’m only getting the hang of it now!

Banana bread is a favorite of mine too. I can see the temptation. One day at work they had a pancake breakfast for the children who had perfect attendance. Well, there was so much food left over…pancakes, bacon, sauages, organge juice that they left the rest in the lounge for teachers later on…we all eat our lunch in the teachers lounge. The smell alone made your mouth water. Everyone was having some. For me I had to sit with my back towards the food so I couldn’t see it. If I can’t see it, its not there. I ate my own food and kept to my plan. It was hard but I did it.

I also have a teacher that loves Dunkin Dounts and when she stops she will usually bring me back something like a cranberry muffin or donut…just to be nice. I tell her thank you and appreciate it, but put in my lunch box and take it home with me to give to my father or throw it away. I think of how my father will enjoy it and how I’ll just wish I never eat it in the first place.

Maybe you could tell your friend that always offer food to not offer it to you because you are trying to eat differently. You could explain that you love his food but once you start to eat you just want more and more. I’ve told people that I couldn’t eat something because of the sugar contents before and they would ask me oh are you diabetic?…and I’m not…but I would say…my sugar is a little high I need to watch and they would stop pushing food my way and say sorry. It worked like magic. It was simple. If I would of said I’m on a diet they would have kept it up…it’s only one piece…and so on until I would cave and eat the whatever it is.

It’s great you are back on plan with your lunch. That’s the hardest thing to do go right back to it once you get off. Good for you. :)
